Taking On the Sports Illustrated Swim Search

There is a revolution brewing on our social feeds, and it refuses to be airbrushed.

When Sports Illustrated announced its highly anticipated open swim search casting calls in New York and Los Angeles, the fashion world braced for the usual wave of hopefuls. But Caroline Adegun, the powerhouse founder and CEO of The Extended Plus Network (EPN), is making sure this year looks entirely different.

Taking to Instagram with a raw, unfiltered battle cry, Adegun admitted she almost kept the footage hidden. “I had this video in my phone and I was never going to share it,” she confessed, credit giving to a wise friend who told her to simply “post that shit and fuck what people think.”

The message? A fierce, unapologetic call to arms for true body liberation. Adegun, stunning in her own 4X, size 28 body, is mobilizing a movement. EPN is officially rallying unconventional beauties to "rush" the open casting calls this November.

For decades, Hollywood and the modeling industry have treated diversity like a finite quota, often capping "plus-size" representation at a palatable size 14 or 16. Adegun and her agency are dismantling that boundary, demanding that mainstream media finally center sizes 3X to 5X and beyond.

“It's about damn time that all of these brands start showcasing all of us,” Adegun stated. “Sports Illustrated, we need your roster to include women with stretch marks, women with cellulite, women with bellies and tummies and all of that. We need to see that."

This isn't just about a magazine spread; it's a structural disruption of Western beauty standards. EPN is transforming a high-stakes industry casting into a collective celebration, urging plus-size women to grab their closest friends, make a day of it, and take up space. The message to the fashion elite is loud, clear, and beautifully uncompromised: every body is a swimsuit body.
